The Hardin Lady Hornets remained perfect in district play on Friday afternoon at home with a straight-set 25-8, 25-9, and 25-14 win over New Waverly. The victory moves Hardin to 26-4 on the season and 4-0 in district play.

Read moreThe Dayton Broncos boys and girls cross country teams ran against some of the best in the Area on Saturday morning in the Region III Preview Meet in Huntsville. Anthony Parra from Lockhart won the boys side. Peyton Snapp of Dayton finished in 17th, with Isaac Ramirez placing 40th. Jacob Thomas also put in a good performance at 49th place with teammate Avery Toole at 55 and Javier Mayorga at 60th. Diego Cruz, Ryans Parks, Robert Spotswood, and Carlos Pineda also ran for the Broncos. Leading the way for the ladies was Jessica Plascencia, with a fine finish of 4th place. Maiyah Phoummarath came across in 37th place while Samantha Sanchez finished at 42nd. Eleora Ellison and Nevaeh Ives also competed for the Lady Broncos. Dayton will take part at the Tony Munson Invitational in Liberty on Saturday morning.
