The Liberty County Sheriff’s Department responded to a call on West Pine Street in the City of Daisetta on the evening of February 22. A one-year-old child was reported missing by family members, and when deputies arrived, they were informed that a family member had discovered the child deceased in the neighbor’s aboveground swimming pool. The Sheriff’s Department Lead Investigator, Shandalynn Rhame stated when the emergency medical team arrived on the scene, CPR was being given to the child, who did not respond.

TCEQ has asked Liberty County to issue a boiled water notice for all residents in the City of Dayton Lakes. Due to the recent concerns over water quality issues, some medical issues were reported by residents in the community. More information will be forthcoming on this issue, with further investigations ongoing.

Second Vaccine Dose Rescheduled
Poor road conditions and the inclement weather has caused Emergency Hospital Systems to reschedule all second dose Covid-19 vaccines. The date has been changed but all appointment times will remain the same.
