FLOWERS wins USATF Region 12 Meet in Fort Worth
FORT WORTH - Liberty graduate Patrick Flowers keeps amazing everyone with his running this year. Last week, the new University of Houston Cougar won the USATF Region 12, 3000-meter run in Fort Worth.
The win advances Flowers to the USATF Junior Olympics in Eugene, OR at the end of July.
At Liberty high school during his career, Flowers ran in the State Cross Country Meet three out of four years and finished his senior year in 12th place.
Even more incredible is what Flowers did after the State Cross Country Meet, boarding a plane to New York to take part in the National Youth 5K Championships in the Big Apple the following morning, where he brought home a second- place finish. That’s a pretty impressive 24-hour span.
Flowers also capped off a solid career on the basketball court with over 1,000 career points.
On his 18th birthday in December, with over 100 friends and family at the Flowers house, Patrick announced he would take his running talents to the University of Houston.
Congratulations to Patrick on adding another outstanding achievement to his resume.
