Carden to play ball as an SFA LadyJack
Calling her the best shortstop to come through Dayton since he began coaching softball there, Coach Daryl Bell welcomed a big crowd to Amanda Carden’s signing ceremony Thursday afternoon at Dayton High School.
Carden signed her National Letter of Intent to play for the Stephen F. Austin LadyJacks.
She is the daughter of Charles and Maxine Carden. Her father said she began playing softball at the age of 7, and her coach then, Joe Burns, was there for today’s signing.
Besides taking the field as a Lady Bronco, since 2011 Carden has also played select ball as a member of the Texas Dirt Divas under Coach J.D. Chandler.
