Construction of the Chambers County Justice Center is progressing as work continues moving forward on the new facilities.

ANAHUAC – The beam signing ceremony, often referred to as a topping-out ceremony, was held at the Justice Center construction site Friday, Feb. 28.

This point in the construction schedule was celebrated with brief speeches highlighting the significance of the new 170,000-square-foot justice center for the community. Officials from Chambers and guests from neighboring Orange County signed a special beam that will be hoisted into place on the structure.

Americus Holdings, LTD is providing Chambers County pre-development services to deliver the Justice Center Project that includes a new 300 bed County Jail, a new County Courthouse with six courtrooms, a new County Law Enforcement Center with 911 / PSAP and Emergency Operations spaces, and 450 surface parking spaces. This project is being developed using the build-finance-maintain delivery method.

Anticipation is high as the community looks forward to the completion of this state-of-the-art facility that promises to enhance the efficiency and capabilities of the county’s judicial and law enforcement systems.
