DHS Students Receive Industry-Based Certifications

DAYTON — Dayton High School Computer Technician students, Karl Grier and Aidan Mudd, recently traveled to Houston to test for the CompTIA A+ and CompTIA Network+ industry-based certifications. Industry-based certifications help students be “job ready” by the time they graduate high school.
Karl Grier is DHS’s first CompTIA Network+ certified student, and he was the first DHS student to become CompTIA A+ certified last year during his junior year.
Aidan Mudd is now the second DHS student to earn the CompTIA A+ certification!
Congratulations to both of these students as the tests for these specific certifications are not easy!
The Computer Maintenance and Computer Technician courses at DHS are just two courses of many Career & Technical Education courses offered that are helping students work toward industry-based certifications.
CompTIA is the industry standard for establishing a career in Information Technology. Companies look for individuals that have accomplished the CompTIA certifications when hiring for positions in their IT departments, tech support and field service technicians.
Karl and Aiden are well on their way to successful job placement with these certifications on their resumes.
Dayton ISD is certainly proud of these two young men.
