Panthers give fans a glimpse at Watermelon Scrimmage

Liberty Panther football fans got a chance to spend the Saturday evening watching the annual Watermelon Scrimmage at the high school practice field.
The scrimmage lasted about 45-minutes and saw Liberty’s number one offense drive down the field on their first series as they scored on a 1-yard run.
That would be the only touchdown during the scrimmage.
“The kids competed well and played hard,” said Head Coach Chris Lackey.
“We still have a lot of work to do, but we saw some good things out there.” The Panthers will scrimmage Bay City at home on Friday night and then travel to Hardin for their final scrimmage on Aug. 19. The season opener will be at home on Aug. 26 against Coldspring
