McDowell wins WKO Open World Champion Kickboxing
DAYTON - Rudy McDowell was not traveling all the way to the United Kingdom just to sightsee. The 13-yard-old Dayton native was going for a purpose, and McDowell proved just that by bringing home the WKO World Open Champion Kickboxing title (Full Contact) for ages 1113 and the male 33.0-33.1 kg.
Besides bringing the belt home, McDowell also received a silver medal for low kicks.
His match took place on Aug. 5, and he defeated competitors from Scotland and England. Both of Mc-Dowell’s wins were by split decision as he defeated the young man from Scotland in the championship.
This was the WKO World Championships for MMA which the World Kickboxing Organization sanctioned.
Congratulations to McDowell on representing Dayton at the UK and bringing home the World Championship.
