A Bronco Extravaganza

Posted in:

DAYTON — Dayton High School is gearing up for a Bronco Extravaganza through the Chick-fil-A Leader Academy.

The program is set for this Saturday, April 27, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Dayton ISD Support Services Center and focuses on impacting communities through high school students in action.

The Chick-fil-A Leader Academy is a program designed to engage students where they are with what interests them. They have monthly leader labs that help the 10th, 11th, & 12th-grade members grow their leadership skills and three service projects that help them make an impact through action. The final project, The Impact Project, is a chance for the groups to come together and apply what they have learned throughout the program to create an impactful event in the community.

Julie Holloway stated, “One of our juniors, Madison Savage, worked with the DISD on securing our venue. Sophomores Sydney Nations and Jimmy Rivera created a list of businesses, clubs, and organizations for all members to contact for donations, sponsorships, games, and volunteers. Our senior members, amid everything the Spring semester throws at them, have been the boots on the ground working the lists the other members created. This is their baby. They are a wonderful group of diverse individuals who have worked well together and created an event that will hopefully put smiles on the faces of future Broncos and their families.”

The program is focused on giving back to the people in Dayton. It will be a day of family-friendly fun for all, with part of the proceeds going to the American Cancer Society.

Want to see your business host a booth with carnival/fair-type games and prizes? Booth information, fees, and sponsorship opportunities can be found on their web pages. You can also donate prizes or monetary donations to The American Cancer Society in the DHS Chick-fil-A Leader Academy name.

If you would like to sponsor a booth ($100 minimum fee) run for a high school club, organization, or athletic team, that would also be an option. All Business and Organization booths will be asked to donate $15 to cover the costs of hosting the event.

Submit all donations/payments to Julie Holloway at the Dayton High School via cash/check. For other payment types, PayPal (@jmh0508), Cash App ($jmholloway5), or Venmo (@julie-holloway-21).
