40th Mayhaw Festival this weekend
It’s that time of year when folks from Hull-Daisetta and the surrounding area get together for the Mayhaw Festival, and this year they will celebrate 40 years.
This year’s event is this Friday, April 29 – Sunday, May 1, with a slew of fun things for every age, including the big Miss Mayhaw Pageant, BBQ Cook-Off, Kids Entertainment, Art Contest, Jelly and Baking Competition, live and silent auctions, and washers/ cornhole tournament.
Saturday, the annual Parade kicks off on Main Street at 10 am, followed by the dominos tournament, Dog Beauty Pageant, Magic Show, and so much more fill out the day.
Saturday night will be the Bull Riding Competition at 6:30 pm, followed by the Street Dance with Jamie Bergeron & The Kicking Cajuns, providing entertainment from 8:30 - 12 am.
For the athletes out there, check out the basketball and volleyball tournaments and the Punt/ Pass/Kick Competition.
Sunday, the festival will close out with the Community-Wide Church Service at 11 am, followed by a Community-Wide Meal at 12:30 pm.
