MENISTRY BROTHER TO BROTHER

MENistry Brother to Brother at Berean Tabernacle Baptist Church will be hosted by Heart of A Woman International Ministries on Saturday, April 30 from 8 am-12:30 pm. You can register online at Heart Of A Woman Facebook page and it is free. Bring a friend or donation of socks, deodorant, or toothbrush for our Men’s Shelter Outreach. Breakfast will be served.

QUARTER BINGO AND BAKE SALE

House of Destiny is a faith-based one year life recovery house for hurting women recovering from addictions. They will be hosting a Quarter Bingo and Bake Sale Fundraiser on April 30 at 2 pm. Bingo is .25 cents a card. There will be homemade baked goods for sale as all proceeds go towards the House of Destiny. It is located at Encounter Church 3160 FM 2798, Votaw, Tx 77376. BATTLE OF SAN JACINTO

The Chambers County Historical Commission is hosting their 2nd annual “Battle of San Jacinto” presented by The San Jacinto Volunteers on Saturday, April 30. It will be held at the Historic Fort Anahuac Park, 1704 S. Main, Anahuac, Tx. Admission is free and donations are appreciated. No alcohol is allowed. Stroll through the camp of General Sam Houston and General Santa Anna, talk to the soldiers, watch the ladies prepare a camp meal, learn about the battle and the Runaway Scrape.... take lots of pictures from 10am-2pm. The battle begins at 3pm narrated by Jim Bevill. You may bring a lawn chair or blanket. Sausage on a Stick will be sold by the Chambers Co Museum and Tony’s Tamales will sell delicious tamales, soft serve ice cream, and snow cones at the event. TARKINGTON LIBRARY FUNDRAISER

The Tarkington Community Library is hosting a fundraiser. Their Board Members are selling 300 tickets for a Louis Vuitton Purse. The drawing will be posted on the library’s Facebook page after all 300 tickets are sold. COLBERT ELEMENTARY PRE-K ROUNDUP

Colbert Elementary will be holding the 2022-2023 school year Pre-K Round up Registration in the front office Thursday, April 14 to Friday, May 13 9a-2p by appointment only. Call the front office before. You will need the child’s birth certificate, social security card, up to date shot record, current proof of residency, parent/guardian’s driver’s license, and proof of income (1-month paystubs, or SNAP/Medicaid letter). HARDIN SENIOR CITIZENS

The Hardin Senior Citizens meet at the Hardin Community Center each week Tuesday-Friday the center opens at 8:30 am for anyone wanting a little breakfast at no charge or just to swing in to visit. DAYTON OLD SCHOOL MUSEUM

The Dayton Old School Museum is open to the public from 10 am – 2 pm on Saturdays. The museum is located at 111 W. Houston St. in Dayton.

CELEBRATE RECOVERY

The Family Church in Hardin hosts Celebrate Recovery, a weekly class every Tuesday at 7 pm. If you know someone who needs this class, please share this information with them. This is a Bible-based recovery program for alcohol, drugs, codependency, anger management, etc. The Family Church is located at 656 CR 2010 in Hardin, Texas.

NARCOTICS ANONYMOUS

Trust the process. Narcotics Anonymous meets every Monday and Wednesday at 7 pm at 424 Main Street in Liberty, next to Jax Hamburgers. For more information, call 254-716-9965.

The City of Liberty has Coffee with the Mayor on the third Thursday of the month.

As the legislative branch of the City of Ames government, the City Council holds open public meetings where local laws, policies, and fundamental decisions for the city are discussed and decided. City Council members are elected at large.

All members are elected at large. The regularly called meetings of the Liberty City Council are held on the second Tuesday of each month at 6:00 pm. Special called meetings are typically held on the fourth Tuesday of each month; however, meetings may be reached at any time to conduct necessary business.

PLUM GROVE CITY COUNCIL MEETING

Second Monday of each month

Meetings start at 7:00 pm at City Hall.
