VETERANS HONORED WITH BREAKFAST AT DISD ELEMENTARY SCHOOLS
On Friday, Nov. 10, Dayton ISD’s three elementary school principals organized a ‘flapjack’ breakfast for a special group of folks.
SFA’s principal Atiya Wortham, who started this tradition a few years ago, was happy to share this event with the other campuses.
Mrs. Wortham stated, “This is one of the best celebrations that we host each year. I love that it has grown and we have expanded this event throughout our district.”
ERR’s principal Ashley Hobbs added, “ We celebrated our veterans with a special breakfast to honor them. Breakfast was served and our students had an opportunity to have their photo taken with a family member that proudly served in the military.”
DISD staff cooked and served on all three elementary campuses.
“I believe we served over 91 veterans and their family members breakfast throughout the three campuses. We look forward to continuing this event again next year,” reported KMB’s principal Leona McCord.
Dayton ISD thanks all of the Veterans for their services and sacrifices.
