Leavins works with city during summer program
Anahuac Municipal Development District and Anahuac High School have partnered for the second year on the Summer Job Program. The Progress will introduce each of the students enrolled in the program.
Kadence Leavins has been training with Anahuac, learning about Code Enforcement and Animal Control.
"Kadence has done really well picking up on tasks quickly and sufficiently," said supervisor Amber Ayres.
Ayres complimented her work ethic and attitude while on the job.
"She arrives at work ready, on time, and eager to start work with a positive attitude. She has been a great fit for both animal control and code enforcement," Ayre said.
Kadence is a senior at AHS and is involved in band, NHS, and serves as Vice President of Student Council and the Beautification Club. She enjoys playing instruments and hanging out with friends and family. After high school, she plans to pursue a career as a veterinarian.
"I learned that I actually want to be a veterinarian. I've always worked with animals, but I never thought it was something I would seriously want to do, but working here, with the animals, changed my perspective in everything," said Kadence.
