ANAHUAC – After 22 long years, Annette De Leon, owner of Cowgirl Divas Boutique, will now be closing her doors as she will hand over the store to her daughter-in-law, Alisha De Leon, who will reopen it as Dimples and Dirt.

Owning her store Dimples and Dirt, located in Mount Belvieu, Alisha carried only children's clothing. Annette and Alisha decided together to move the store to the Cowgirl Divas location to have a bigger store and an even bigger collection.

Working for a boutique for about four years, Alisha loved all the ins and outs of working at a storefront. Developing a deep love for the work, Alisha grew to enjoy the art of styling and selecting clothing for her displays.

Curating the perfect color combinations and materials, Alisha creates artwork to entice her customers.

Alisha’s favorite part about her job is planning for the seasons ahead. Buying months in advance for a season, Alisha loves to see the new trends and clothing that are making a comeback or are being introduced to the scene. Selecting clothing she loves but also what her customers will enjoy, Alisha plans thoroughly for the upcoming months.

"It’s kind of like a sneak peek into the future and that's always interesting to see," Alisha said.

Alisha’s daily routine consists of prepping tables and mannequins, so everything stays new and fresh for incoming customers. Helping customers and packing orders for both local and non-local buyers, Alisha stays busy on her feet for her clientele.

Alisha also invests time in coming up with content for social media as she captures her style and aesthetic in her photos and videos. You can find all of her content on TikTok, Facebook and Instagram under Dimples and Dirt.

During her high school days, Alisha loved the idea of fashion. Adding her own unique twist and accessories to her outfits, Alisha styled herself into who she has become today. Building fashion involves building yourself.

"That's when I started to take the time accessorizing my own outfits and looking at different things, and that's when I chose my interest and now it's become a bigger thing for me as a boutique owner," Alisha said.

Building strong relationships with customers is what Alisha enjoys about owning her own business. Seeing her customers grow and share new things really excites her. Having their support keeps Alisha and her business going and growing.

"Being in their life for many years, even if it's just through them buying an outfit, it's still them supporting me too," Alisha said.

Alisha’s vision for Dimples and Dirt is all about growth. She is hoping to expand towards women's wear and being able to cater to all customers who stop by so everyone can leave with a new piece and a smile.
