Building the future with books
ANAHUAC— Anahuac National Bank is partnering with Anahuac ISD Education Foundation on a campaign intended to benefit students at each school in the Anahuac Independent School District.
Books are the Building Blocks of the Future Capital Campaign is intended to raise funds for the schools, specifically to purchase books for the school libraries on each campus.
“With gratitude, I am pleased to announce a $7,500 donation from Anahuac National Bank and the Board of Directors to begin this vital campaign,” ANB President and CEO Ken Moore said. “We know books provide students with the opportunity to be challenged, enlightened, and transformed. We are here to support our schools today and into the future.”
The initiative is intended to address pressing needs in the community with a vision of bettering the student’s learning experience to help build the foundation for a stronger future, according to a press release from ANB.
“At the Anahuac ISD Education Foundation, we are driven to transform our students through the creation of new knowledge and to transform the lives of our students by expanding access to high quality, affordable education,” AISD EF President Hannah Vaughan said. “We believe the impact of this book campaign will be felt every day at every campus.”
The campaign is the “most ambitious campaign” AISD EF has undertaken with a goal of $50,000. The foundation often assists the schools by providing grants to administrators and teachers, having monthly raffle draws and more.
ANB often partners with AISD schools through volunteer efforts. In the past, the bank has read to children, cultivated piggy bank savings habits, provided tours of bank locations to help students understand the concept of money, taught basics of checking accounts and credit and provided snacks and lunches to teachers and administrators.
The campaign will begin March 1 and end May 22. ANB is asking for donations in support of the schools. Donations may be made at ANB locations with checks made to AEF.
Donations may be made in honor or in memory of family or friends. Business owners are encouraged to match gifts.
AISD EF is designated as a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization by the IRS. Donations made to the foundation are tax-deductible as defined by the IRS Revenue Code.
“This campaign is about more than the numbers—it is about a community that is dedicated to giving back and lifting up the next generation,” according to the press release.
ANB will provide monthly updates on the campaign's progress. Every contribution, of any amount, makes a difference in a child’s education.
