Anahuac looking for playoff spot
ANAHUAC – The Anahuac boys basketball team is primed to claim a playoff spot this year and hopes to make some noise.
Under Head Coach Chad Guillory, the Panthers will have senior 6'5 guard Quandre Coates leading the way at point guard. Coates will use his size at guard to look over people and hit the glass for rebounds.
Anahuac will have a couple of players that can hit the three-pointer if left open. Richard Smith hit five three-pointers against Liberty early this season and Christian Hernandez can also hit from downtown.
Elisha Mannino and Ceasar Hernandez will be scoring threats. The Panthers will also seek contributions from Jason Nelson, Jaxon Leath and Ryan Tu.
The Panthers will compete in district play with Orangefield, Warren, Buna, Hardin, East Chambers, Kirbyville and Kountze.
District play will start on Dec. 17 at home against Buna. The end of district play will conclude on Feb. 11 at East Chambers.
