Chase from Paw Patrol and Buddy from HEB visit Anahuac for Community Day.

ANAHUAC— It seemed as if most of Anahuac was at Fort Anahuac Park on Saturday in celebration of Community Day.

The Third Annual Community Day, organized by the Anahuac Masonic Lodge No. 995, was a fun-filled event with plenty of activities for children of all ages to enjoy.

"It exponentially expanded this year and it's been a lot of fun," Master Randall Decker said.

The loved event has grown significantly over the past few years. In its first year, there were three vendors, one bounce house and the masons handed out about 125 to 150 hotdogs.

Last year, there were about 27 vendors, and the masons handed out about 325 to 350 hotdogs. This year, there were 35 vendors and about five inflatables.

The free event included live music, plenty of vendors and attractions, and free hotdogs prepared by the masons.

"We just want to do something nice for the community," Mason James Copeland said.

Jordan Sanford with Littles Party Rentals provided inflatables for children five and under, and Saint Francis Creative Farms provided a donkey ride and a petting zoo with a variety of animals.

From Paw Patrol, the Anahuac Volunteer Fire Department brought in Marshall and the Chambers County Sheriff's Office brought in Chase. Buddy with HEB also stopped by for a visit in Anahuac.

Anahuac Animal Shelter invited Chance and Shadow to hang out at their booth. The pair spent 411 days in the shelter before being adopted by Jermoy Mayer. For updates on the pups, Mayer has a TikTok dedicated to his rescues, @family_dog_rescue.

"There's some plans about adding things next year because we're always looking to grow," Decker said.

Decker added they were looking to include more adult attractions, possibly a car show, for next year.

With help from sponsors, the event was free for all to enjoy. The platinum sponsor was Shoreline Contractors.

Gold sponsors included ONEOK, Inc., Gator Wash, Four Corner Tires and Brookshire Brothers. Wowco Equipment Co. was a silver sponsor.
