Entergy Texas made significant progress overnight restoring power to customers in areas heavily impacted by Hurricane Beryl. As of 9:30 a.m. Saturday, crews have successfully turned the lights back on for approximately 212,100 of the 252,460 customers impacted, which brings the company’s total restoration percentage to more than 80% complete. The majority of customers who can safely take power are expected to be restored no later than Monday, July 15.

WASHINGTON -- President Biden amended the Major Disaster Declaration for Texas on July 12 authorizing additional federal assistance to disaster survivors to help aid in their recovery from Hurricane Beryl which occurred July 5-9, 2024. Survivors who are uninsured or underinsured can register for assistance that may include funding to repair or replace their homes, temporary housing, access to low-interest loans or other programs to help them jumpstart their recovery.

Only a month into the 2024 hurricane season the Texas Gulf Coast has been pounded twice as Alberto and Beryl made landfall in the Lone Star state.
While Alberto left little impact on the northern coastal area of the state, Beryl brought plenty of theatrics on its record-setting course across the Atlantic and eventually into the gulf before slamming Texas on Monday morning.
