Snakes Galore!
If you haven’t yet checked out the rock snakes in Dayton and Daisetta, you have missed out on all the rage this summer.
The snakes are colorful and adorned with creative pieces of rocks, bricks, and crushed concrete, which have grabbed both communities’ attention and continue to grow daily.
The first of the snakes appeared at the Dayton Community Center earlier in the summer and has grown to over 380 rocks at last count. The snake has been dubbed “Rocky” and comes decorated with names, images and many creative additions.
Just days after “Rocky” debuted, another similar installation appeared in Daisetta at the city pavilion. The yet-to-be-named Daisetta version has reached nearly 200 rocks. City leaders were planning a naming contest.
Both have made summertime fun for many residents in both communities, so if you want something to do, why not decorate a rock and join in?
