Liberty softball camp a success as always
LIBERTY- The Annual Liberty Softball Camp was held last Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday at the Lady Panthers diamond. Once again, the camp was a success as it attracted 47 softball players.
The first session was from 4-6 pm with second thru fifth graders, and the second was from 6-8 pm with sixth thru eighth graders. Around 17 attended the first session, while 30 campers participated in the second one.
On Wednesday, after the older group went through a few drills, the girls were split into two teams and played a scrimmage against each other.
Host Karen and Joe Slack took turns being first and third base coaches while their son JJ Slack was on the field umpiring and providing further instructions.
“It’s a little hot out here, but the numbers for the camp were good again,” said Liberty Head Coach Karen Slack.
Plenty of water was provided for the campers and getting taught by one of the best coaches in the state is not a bad deal either.
