TxDOT offers updates on area projects
DAYTON – In any direction you drive in the area, some roadwork is either ongoing or being prepped for work; now, TxDOT has offered updates on four projects.
Currently, on US 90, work has been underway for some time between Highway 146 and FM 1409; with the original completion date already passed, mill and overlay work continues at night, between 9 p.m. and 5 am.
“We anticipate the base repair work to be completed by the end of the month. Overlay work will follow the base repairs giving the roadway a new smooth surface. The project is scheduled to be complete in early summer, weather permitting,” read a TxDOT update issued Wednesday.
Another major project, the overpass at US 90 and FM 1413, is underway, with construction expected to be completed by 2025.
“Crews have completed an overlay and have begun the construction of the overpass, which will take US90 over FM1413,” according to TxDOT.
Work also continues on HWY 146 south of Dayton. According to TxDOT, crews continue milling operations and any needed repairs to the base of the roadway. Anticipated completion is by the end of the year.
Finally, work on FM 1008 between Dayton and Kenefick is expected to go on for some time, with base repairs underway and a new surface scheduled to be completed in the summer of 2024.
