Mayor proclaims ‘Docent Day’
Dayton Mayor Caroline Wadzeck proclaimed July 29 as “Old School Museum Docent Day” in honor of the dedicated 21 docents who give their time to share Dayton’s history with the community.
A packed house of Dayton Historical Society members enjoyed a hotdog dinner and homemade ice cream as Wadzeck presented the proclamation to Society President Danny Bode. Docents were recognized individually and received thank you bags for their volunteer service. Each Saturday the museum and historical log cabin, at 111 W. Houston Street, is open free of charge to the public from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
