John Edmond Krawczyk, Sr.
John Edmond Krawczyk, Sr., 82, of Liberty, Texas, passed away peacefully, on Wednesday, December 7, 2022, at his home, with loving family by his side. He was born on November 16, 1940, in DuBois, Pennsylvania, to the late Valentine F. and Teresa A. Kuharski Krawczyk. John graduated from DuBois High School with the class of 1958. After graduating from high school, he attended Lamar University to further his education. He attended St. Stephen’s Episcopal Church in Liberty, Texas.
John pursued many interests, sailing, computers and electronics, music, traveling, and spending time with his grandchildren. He also enjoyed being a Ham Radio operator. John had a fond love for trains and was an avid model train collector. He was often quiet and gentle, funny and sarcastic at times, and truly enjoyed making others laugh. He will be deeply missed and fondly remembered by all who knew and loved him.
John was preceded in death by his parents; his sister Violet Hesser; his brother Theodore Krawczyk; his late wife Lois Wall. He leaves behind to cherish his loving memory, his beloved wife of ten years, Carol Erat; his children John Krawczyk, Jr. and wife Dana of Annapolis, Maryland, Jessica Williamson and husband Robert of Mount Vernon, Texas, Nancy Waldrip and husband Curt of Liberty, Texas and Terri Turley and husband James of Moody, Texas; his stepsons Randy, Scott and Tom Bailey; his numerous grandchildren and one great-grandchild; his many nieces and nephews; along with a host of other loving relatives and friends.
The family requests that in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in John’s honor to the Grace Initiative of South Liberty County to assist with the Meals on Wheels program, P.O. Box 10397, Liberty, Texas, 77575, St. Stephen’s Episcopal Church or Catholic Charities Refugee Services.
A celebration of John’s life will be held on Saturday, January 14, 2023, with the time to be determined, at St. Stephen’s Episcopal Church, 2041 Trinity Street, Liberty, Texas 77575.
