Liberty sweeps past Orangefield
Katrina Tran had 24 assists, 5 kills, and 5 digs to lead the Liberty Lady Panthers to a three-game sweep over Orangefield.
The Lady Panthers were solid with a 25-14, 25-15, and 25-19 on Tuesday night at home in a non-district match.
Madyson Goudeau also had a nice game with 9 kills and 12 digs.
Tied at 3-3 early on, Breezy Pantalion had a kill to give Liberty a 4-3 lead.
Goudeau then scored with a tip, and the score was 10-5, and the Lady Panthers were on a 7-2 run.
Moments later, Goudeau landed another kill, and the advantage was up to 19-10.
Liberty jumped out in front early in game two, with Morgan Vaughn landing a kill to make it 3-0.
The lead was then pushed to 13-4 on a Goudeau kill.
Tran would score with a tip, and the advantage was 16-6.
Ashlyn Cordova then hit a winner, and the score was 21-11. Goudeau made it 24-15 with a kill, and the Lady Panthers would win the next point on a Lady Bobcat error, and Liberty led 2-0 in the match.
Orangefield played their best game of the night in game three and led 6-5 before a kill by Pantalion tied the score at 6-apiece.
The Lady Panthers went on an 11-5 run thanks to a kill by Vaughn, and the score was 17-12.
Bailee Slack got into the act with a kill to make it 23-19.
Leading 24-19, Vaughn ended the match with a kill.
Vaughn finished with 4 kills and 3 blocks, while Pantalion had 10 kills. Reese Evans added 15 digs.
Liberty will play in the Dayton Tournament this weekend.
