Liberty County GOP holds open house
The Liberty County Republican Party met on Monday night, July 25, 2022, for an Open House and an Organizational Meeting. After the Open House, Party Chairwoman Emily Cook called the Organizational Meeting to order just after 6:30 pm.
The opening prayer was led by Precinct 26 Chair Jim Spencer.
Judge Tommy Chambers swore in the newly elected Party Chair and Precinct Chairs. Outgoing Chairman, Ryan Daniel, was presented with a plaque in honor of his service as Chairman of the Party.
Mr. Daniel served as Chairman from 2016 to 2021.
Other officers sworn in included Sherial Lawson as Vice-Chair, Ryan Daniel as Treasurer, Richey Ewing as Parliamentarian, Doc Sikes as Sergeant at Arms, and, after a unanimous affirmative vote, Lee H. Chambers as Secretary. Tommy Brents was appointed Webmaster, and Sarah Vickery was appointed Publicity Manager.
James Pressler, a campaign representative for Attorney General Ken Paxton, was in attendance to give a brief presentation.
Chairwoman Emily Cook discussed some milestones of the Party so far. These included new office space, donations of an American Flag and Texas Flag, and the purchase of a computer for Party business.
Several events are in the works for the Liberty County Republican Party. The next quarterly meeting is being planned for September, so be on the lookout for details. These quarterly meetings will be held at various locations throughout the county.
A ‘Coffee and Donuts’ event will be held prior to the November 2022 elections, and a fundraising dinner is being planned for early 2023. Several community events are also being planned.
