Dayton’s Willis brings home MVP honors for West Team
Down to the final seconds of the game, Bridge City’s Ethan Oceguera found Jasper’s Jamario Thomas on a deep ball. Then Thomas would do the rest by going through traffic to find the end zone with just :04 seconds remaining to lift the East to a 24-22 win over the West on Friday night in the SETCA All-Star Game at Beaumont’s ISD Memorial Stadium.
The East led 9-0 early on as Oceguera connected with Nederland’s Kyndon Fuserlier for a touchdown. The West got on the scoreboard with Barbers Hill quarterback Brent Holdren scoring from 10-yards out. Holdren then scored on the two-point conversion to cut the East lead to 9-8 at the half.
The Dayton Broncos were represented very well as Cam’ron Willis finished his high school career by taking home MVP honors for the West Team.
