JUNETEENTH PARADE
MY B.L.O.C will be hosting a Juneteenth parade and celebration this Saturday, June 11. The parade will start around 11 am on E. Houston at the Texan Theatre and travel east to Peach St., making their way through 787 and over to Samuel Wiley Park in Cleveland. This year’s Grand Marshalls are Veterans and active-duty service men and women. The theme is Founding Fathers of Freedom, The United State Colored Troops. CISD NEW STUDENT REGISTRATION
The 2022-2023 New Student Registration for Cleveland ISD is upon us. Online registration will open on June 1. You can visit their website: https:// www.clevelandisd.org/ parents-students/registration to begin the process. In-Person Registration Assistance will begin on July 13.
VACATION BIBLE SCHOOL 22
Join the Olive Bethel Baptist Church staff in Hardin for Vacation Bible School on June 8-10 from 6 pm to 9 pm. Classes will be available for ages 3 through adults. They will have bible lessons, art, music, recreation, and food. Bible School will end with a Fun Day on June 11. The time for this event will be announced during Bible School. This year’s theme is Created in Christ-Designed for God’s Purpose.
CMSA CRAWFISH BOIL-OFF
CMSA Elite is hosting their 2nd annual Crawfish Boil-Off Fundraiser Saturday, June 11, from 10 am to 6 pm. The boil-off will take place at the Henderson Day Park, Luke St., Dayton, TX 77535. The winners for best tasting will be awarded first, second, and third place. There is a deal, three pounds of crawfish for $20 for families to enjoy. JUNIOR GOLF CLINIC
Does your kid like to play golf? Look no further, a Junior Golf Clinic will be held June 13, 14, and 15 from 8 am to 10 am. All kids ages seven to seventeen are invited. This event is at the Chambers County Golf Course, 1 Pinchback Drive, Anahuac, TX 77514. The maximum number of juniors is ten. Mervin Thomas will teach pro golf to those who would like to learn. OLIVE BETHEL HOMECOMING
Join Olive Bethel Missionary Baptist Church for their 75th Homecoming Celebration Sunday, June 26, at noon. The event will take place at the church, 5830 FM 1011 Hardin, TX 77561. Pastor Marvin Etheridge of Trinity Valley Missionary Baptist Church will be providing the message. There will be a picnic-style dinner following the service. Masks are optional.
SHOOTING SPORTS MEETING

JONES LIBRARY ART CONTEST
The Jones Public Library will be hosting an Art Contest this summer in conjunction with the Summer Reading Program. Submissions are being accepted from June 1 to July 1, and the contest will run throughout the month of July. Patrons age thirteen and up are invited to participate. The art must fit the theme: “Oceans of Possibilities.” Any art mediums may be entered. Pieces may be submitted in person at the Jones Public Library. ST. MILES PRAYER BREAKFAST
A Prayer Breakfast will be held at St. Miles Missionary Baptist Church, 120 East Main Hwy 90, Ames, TX 77575, on July 16. Registration begins at 8:30 am, and breakfast will be at 9 am. It is $5 for donation. Sis. Beth Randolph of Olive Bethel Missionary Baptist Church in Hardin will be the guest speaker at this event.
WOMEN’S ANNUAL DAY
Everyone is invited to the Women’s Annual Day event with guest speaker Rev. Jason Dever from Greater Commission Family Church in Houston. This event will be held at St. Miles Missionary Baptist Church on July 17 at 10 am.
BACKPACK GIVEAWAY
The Buffalo Soldiers Motorcycle Club, in conjunction with the Magnificent 10 and Mt. Rose Missionary Baptist Church, is hosting a Back To School Backpack Giveaway. They will be giving out 200 backpacks to Liberty ISD students on July 30, from 11 pm to 1 pm. The Hardin Senior Citizens meet at the Hardin Community Center each week Tuesday-Friday the center opens at 8:30 am for anyone wanting a little breakfast at no charge or just to swing in to visit. CELEBRATE RECOVERY
The Family Church in Hardin hosts Celebrate Recovery, a weekly class every Tuesday at 7 pm. If you know someone who needs this class, please share this information with them. This is a Bible-based recovery program for alcohol, drugs, codependency, anger management, etc. The Family Church is located at 656 CR 2010 in Hardin, Texas.
