FUMC LIBERTY BLOOD DRIVE
First United Methodist Church Liberty, along with Life Share Blood Centers, will be hosting a blood drive, Thursday, Mary 19, 2022, from 3 to 7 pm, in the Fellowship Hall, 539 Main Street, Liberty. Anyone who has not donated whole blood in the last 56 days, or double red cells in the last 112 days, is eligible. By donating blood, you are truly giving the gift of life. VACATION BIBLE SCHOOL
The Liberty Worship Center will be having their Vacation Bible School: TREASURED Discovering You’re Priceless to God event from May 30-June 3. All kids ages four to eleven are encouraged to attend. This event will take place at 501 Austin St., Liberty, TX 77575.
JONES LIBRARY ART CONTEST
The Jones Public Library will be hosting an Art Contest this summer in conjunction with the Summer Reading Program. Submissions are being accepted from June 1 to July 1, and the contest will run throughout the month of July. Patrons age thirteen and up are invited to participate. The art must fit the theme: “Oceans of Possibilities.” Any and all art mediums may be entered. Pieces may be submitted in person at the Jones Public Library. FREE COMMUNITY SHRED & RECYCLING
The City of Liberty will hold a FREE Community Shred & Recycling Event that will allow citizens to safely dispose of sensitive documents (tax returns, bank statements, etc) and unwanted electronics (laptops, desktops, cell phones, etc). All documents will be shredded on site by Texas Security Shredding Company.
Appliances and TVs will not be accepted at this event.
This event is FREE and open to the public. It will take place from 9:00 am until 11:30am on Saturday, June 4th at Liberty City Hall (1829 Sam Houston)
TARKINGTON LIBRARY FUNDRAISER
The Tarkington Community Library is hosting a fundraiser. Their Board Members are selling 300 tickets for a Louis Vuitton Purse. The drawing will be posted on the library’s Facebook page after all 300 tickets are sold. VACATION BIBLE SCHOOL 22
Join the staff at the Olive Bethel Baptist Church in Hardin for Vacation Bible School on June 8-10 from 6pm to 9pm. Classes will be available for ages 3 through adults. They will have bible lessons, art, music, recreation, and food. Bible School will end with a Fun Day on June 11. The time for this event will be announced during Bible School. This year’s theme is Created in Christ-Designed for God’s Purpose.

The Hardin Senior Citizens meet at the Hardin Community Center each week Tuesday-Friday the center opens at 8:30 am for anyone wanting a little breakfast at no charge or just to swing in to visit. The Dayton Old School Museum is open to the public from 10 am – 2 pm on Saturdays. The museum is located at 111 W. Houston St. in Dayton.
CELEBRATE RECOVERY
The Family Church in Hardin hosts Celebrate Recovery, a weekly class every Tuesday at 7 pm. If you know someone who needs this class, please share this information with them. This is a Bible-based recovery program for alcohol, drugs, codependency, anger management, etc. The Family Church is located at 656 CR 2010 in Hardin, Texas.
