K-Park takes two from Dayton
Last week the Dayton Broncos were eliminated from the playoffs as Kingwood Park took a pair from Dayton.
On Tuesday night in Kingwood, the Broncos fell to the Panthers 5-2.
Dayton tied the score with a run in the third inning. Holden Campbell singled and then moved to third after an error by the Kingwood Park catcher. Grant Odom then plated Campbell with a single to knot the score at 1-apiece.
The Panthers then scored four runs in the bottom of the fifth to move back ahead 5-1.
Dayton did get back one of those in the sixth as Ashton Garner and Campbell both singled. Victor Zuniga then scored Garner on a ground out to make it 5-2.
Hennings then finished off the Broncos in the seventh inning to get the win on the mound. Blayne Denton pitched into the sixth inning for Dayton and finished with four strikeouts.
Garner had three hits to lead the Broncos at the plate.
On Friday night at home, Dayton committed six errors in a 7-0 loss to the Panthers.
Dylan Ellis pitched five innings and struck out eight.
He allowed only one earned run.
Garner had two hits, and Conner Murphree had a triple.
