Parker pitches no-no, K’s 17 in win
Reese Parker was on fire at home on Thursday night against Anderson-Shiro and pitched a no-hitter and struck out 17 in leading the Hardin Lady Hornets to a 9-0 win over the Lady Owls in a district contest.
Parker allowed only one base runner over seven innings and that runner reached via an error.
She did not allow a walk in the 92-pitch masterpiece.
Hardin did all their damage in the third inning by scoring all nine runs in the frame.
Kenadi Frauenberger led off with a walk and then moved to second on an Audrey Schulz single.
Maddy Fregia then walked to load the bases.
Kaitlyn Key followed with a single to score Frauenberger, and the score was 1-0.
Parker then made it 3-0 with a double to the gap, which scored Schulz and Fregia.
A hitter later, it was Alissa Aragonez with a single to score two more, and the lead was 5-0.
Emmah Hebert then reached on a fielder’s choice, and an Emma Smart single would follow that, and the Lady Hornets had six on the board.
Frauenberger reached on an error to score another, and then Schulz hit a sacrifice fly to score
Smart, and the advantage was 8-0.
Fregia finished the scoring by reaching on an infield hit, bringing Frauenberger home, and Hardin had a 9-0 lead.
That was more than enough for Parker as she continued to dominate the Anderson-Shiro hitters.
Parker and Aragonez each finished with two RBIs apiece.
