Porter sweeps past Cleveland
Last week, the Cleveland Indians met up with Porter to play their home-and-home series in district.
On Tuesday night, the Spartans traveled to Cleveland and won 11-1.
Porter led 10-0 after three innings of play. The Indians did get a run in the fourth as Xavier Woods tripled and then scored on a Donald Robertson single.
Rylan Hamilton had the other hit for Cleveland, and Parker Hamilton struck out four in getting the loss on the mound.
Both teams switched sites on Friday night as the Indians traveled to Porter.
Once again, the Spartans took the contest by the same 11-1 score.
Cleveland grabbed an early 1-0 lead as James Bowersox started the game off with a walk. Woods then grounded out to first, and Bowersox took third base. Parker Hamilton then singled to plate Bowersox, and the Indians led 1-0.
The Spartans answered with three in the bottom half of the inning and then scored two more in the second and then three in the third to give them an 8-1 advantage after three innings of play.
Woods pitched three innings and struck out five on the mound.
