McClure honored for Black History Month

Each year Johnson and Vivians Computer Services/ Vivian Alford (CEO) recognize the efforts of a Liberty County resident that has given to their community through service and volunteer work during Black History Month. This year they honor Mrs. Carolyn A. McClure

McClure turned 77 years on February 1, 2022; McClure is the oldest child of Bernice Dunlap-Brown and Josephus Brown, Jr, or (JC) of Dayton, Texas. McClure has one brother Glenn R. Brown and two guard children, LaChinda Tallory and Vivian Johnson-Alford.

McClure graduated from Colbert High School in 1963; after graduation, she went to SFA, where she did training for Teacher-Educator. Afterward, she served in the Dayton Independent School District for 19 years, and later she did 20 years at Beaumont State Center (known as MHS) (Tri-County), now retired. McClure is better known to us all as “Butch” (ever wonder why we gave her the nickname “Butch”) like the burning bush with Moses God still continues to use her as his servant. McClure enjoys helping and serving others with her gift of Volunteering. McClure is a member of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church in Dayton, TX, where she sings in the choir; and assists with decorating and cleaning the Church. McClure is very gifted in helping those children who have special needs. McClure now enjoyed babysitting these children during her time of being retired.
