BOYS BASKETBALL:
DAYTON- The Broncos had a close game with Caney Creek on Tuesday night that could have gone either way, but it was the Panthers holding off Dayton at the end 53-50. The Broncos will host Porter on Friday night in 20-5A district play.
CLEVELAND- The Cleveland Indians moved their winning streak to six in district play on Saturday afternoon with a 54-47 road win at Lake Creek. Cleveland now stands at 8-3 in the district. HULL-DAISETTA- The Bobcats picked up a win in District 25-2A on Tuesday night at home as they knocked off the Sabine Pass Sharks 56-45. On Friday night, the Bobcats fell to Evadale 73-43. Hull- Daisetta will be in action again on February 15 at Deweyville.
GIRLS BASKETBALL:
DAYTON: The Lady Broncos moved to 4-8 in district on Tuesday night with a 42-36 victory over Caney Creek. Mary Robinson led Dayton with 13 points and Jada Lee 8. Jerrica Keener chipped in with 7 points. The Lady Broncos are now 4-8 in district play.
HARDIN- The Lady Hornets came up short against first-place New Waverly on Tuesday night 77-52. Hardin will be heading to the playoffs, though.
SOCCER:
DAYTON and CLEVELAND- The Lady Broncos traveled to Cleveland on Tuesday night, and both teams played to a 0-0 draw. Girl of the Game for Dayton was Alondra Sanchez.
