‘Tree of Angels’ to honor victims, military, and first responders
The Liberty County District Attorney’s Office has started a new tradition this Christmas season, with the introduction of “Tree of Angels.” The tree will serve as a memorial in support of victims of violent crimes, veterans, members of the military, and first responders.
Located on the first floor of the Liberty County Courthouse, survivors’ families are encouraged to come and hang an angel ornament or any unique ornament honoring these individuals. Anyone wishing to include a loved one’s name on the ornament is encouraged to do so.
Ornaments can be placed on the tree Mon. – Fri. from 8 am – 5 pm throughout the holiday season. Please note that ornaments will not be returned, as they will be kept for display on the tree each year.
For more information, you can contact the District Attorney’s office at 936-336-4609. The Courthouse is located at 1923 Sam Houston St. in Liberty.
