Liberty County Bar meets

Liberty County attorneys came together for a special gathering of the Liberty County Bar Association this past Wednesday in the 75th District Courtroom of Mark Morefield. The group, at last count, consisted of 35-40 attorney-members that practice law locally.
The gathering was the first for the organization since the COVID19 pandemic. The meeting for the photo was the first such undertaking in about two decades, according to LCBA President Farrah Harper.
“It was the office of Sullins and Johnston that sponsored the gathering,” said Harper.
When that organization is fully functional, the group has meetings and offers continuing education courses for attorney-members to do those locally. In years past, they have worked with area schools on mock trial programs.
Another area of focus is networking and trying to reach out to attorneys in surrounding counties, like Chambers, Harris, Polk, San Jacinto Montgomery, and Jefferson.
The LCBA hopes to be up and back in full swing before year’s end, with quarterly meetings and Harper praised the assist to the organization from Sullins and Johnston.
“That was a great undertaking for Sullins and Johnston. They did a great job,” concluded Harper.
