Ann Marie Miller Awarded Recertification of Economic Development Designation

DAYTON, TX - Ann Marie Miller, Executive Director of the Dayton Community Development Corporation, has been awarded recertification by the International Economic Development Council (IEDC) effective July 1, 2021.  Miller first achieved the Certified Economic Developer (CEcD) designation in 2012 and CEcD recertification is requested every three years. 

Miller was awarded recertification by meeting the demanding requirements for continuing education and service to the profession. The designation of Certified Economic Developer (CEcD) is highly recognized nationally and internationally and denotes a mastery of principal skills in economic development, commitment to professional growth, and the growth of this economic development profession.  

Miller first earned certification by passing a rigorous three-part, two-day examination, which tested her knowledge, proficiency, and judgment in the key areas of economic development. At the time, Miller was one of the youngest economic developers to earn the CEcD designation. 

Miller has over sixteen years of economic development experience working in communities in both Oklahoma and Texas. Miller is a frequent presenter for numerous economic development-related training courses and serves on the board of multiple economic development organizations both regionally, nationally, and internationally. In fact, Miller was the first Native American representative to serve on one of these boards.
