‘The Voice of the Chamber’
Just about anyone that has been to a Greater Cleveland Chamber of Commerce luncheon is sure to have received a call from the lovely Jean Noble McAdams, as she is so affectionately known as “The Voice of the Chamber.”
Jean, a longtime resident of the Cleveland area, was given a special honor at the recent Chamber luncheon when she received a Lifetime Achievement Award for all of the dedication and hard work she has shown as a member of that organization over 20 years plus. She has served as Chamber Secretary, Board Director, and Ambassador during her time. Jean has sponsored many events, and the Student Ambassador Program and the Chamber even named their annual Volunteer of the Year Award in her honor.
“She has helped so many people, organizations, and non-profits with her time, talents, and treasures,” said Chamber Executive Assistant Wanda Campbell.
Last Thursday’s luncheon was a bittersweet affair, as it was announced that Jean would be relocating to the Austin area near her son in the coming days and that this would likely be her last in-person Chamber gathering. Still, she made everyone know that she will continue to make those calls reminding everyone about the luncheons; in fact, she insisted it was the only way she would go.
“Her heart to serve and her wisdom to share has made a lasting impression on all of those she has worked with,” said Campbell.
So next time that phone rings and you have the opportunity to speak with Jean, appreciate the warm and friendly call a little more, as you are honestly speaking to someone that epitomizes volunteerism at its absolute finest.
