Dayton looking for new City Manager
Changes are coming for the City of Dayton after City Manager Theo Melancon came to terms with officials in the City of Dickinson to take the same position in that community. Melancon was named the loan finalist last week after interviewing for that job and several other candidates.
Melancon has been with Dayton since 2017, coming from Gladewater, TX.
Dayton Mayor Caroline Wadzeck could not give many details on what will happen in the coming days, but she said planning stages are in motion and that the city would likely be hiring a search firm.
“It is definitely our loss, and we are going to his outstanding leadership,” said Wadzeck.
Council will likely call meeting to deal with the upcoming vacancy in the coming days.
