Liberty opens facilities to full capacity

Shortly after the fear of COVID19 reared its ugly head and the world shut down, the first public event that was victim to the crisis was the 2020 Liberty Jubilee. Out of an abundance of caution, Liberty City officials canceled the event that was only days away.

Since then, we have seen cancelations, mask mandates, and reductions of capacity to all kinds of events, including the 2021 Jubilee and monthly luncheons for the Liberty-Dayton Chamber, just to name a few.

Tuesday night Council met in a workshop session to discuss the City policy going forward; it was clear that members of the Council were comfortable reopening all facilities to full capacity with no social distancing guidelines going forward at this time.

Councilman Neal Thornton made the motion, and Libby Simonson seconded, with Council voting unanimously 6-0.
