Olive Bethel Homecoming set

Olive Bethel Missionary Baptist Church will have its Homecoming Service on Sunday, June 27 at 11 am at Olive Bethel, located at 5830 FM 1011 Liberty. Pastor Gregg Bellard will bring the message.

Due to the recent Pandemic, traditional Homecoming Services and indeed all services have changed. Last year, there was no Annual Homecoming service. Instead, pastor Bellard has been able to deliver the word via Facebook. In addition, the church returned to in-person services on the 1st and 3rd Sundays for now but anticipated returning to weekly benefits in July.

A picnic-style dinner will be served following the service. Please, dress accordingly. Masks are required while indoors.

Olive Bethel has had this Homecoming Observance since WWII. Homecomers come from all over the globe to attend. It is a time for family and friends to Praise the Lord, gather and fellowship.

Traditionally there is a Friday night worship service and the Saturday night musical dubbed Family Night by the late Vertie B. Roberts. She would ensure that each family had a representative leading a song or singing at the musical; thus, Family Night. Olive Bethel eagerly anticipates the return to these activities in the future. The theme for this year is found in Hebrews 12: 1, 2, which reads, “Wherefore seeing we also are compassed about with so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which doth so easily beset us, and let us run with patience that is set before us, Looking to Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God.”
