UIL realignments announced
The UIL announced today its football, volleyball and basketball realignments for the coming seasons.
In football they have put those poor Cleveland Indians up half a notch from Region 3 5A Division 2 to Region 2 5A Division 1. Cleveland will play next year against Caney Creek, College Station, Lufkin, Magnolia, Magnolia West, New Caney, Porter and Waller.
The Dayton Broncos will remain in the same district and face nearly all the same opponents on the grid iron, except only Baytown Lee and Vidor, replaced by Kingwood Park and Texas City.
The Liberty Panthers, along with most of last year’s District 10 will now be District 11, with the addition of Bridge City and Orangefield.
The Tarkington Longhorns move from 3A District 9 to 3A District 10 to play against Anahuac, Buna, East Chambers, Hardin, Kirbyville and Woodville.
West Hardin’s Oilers have been bumped up from 2A Division 2 to 2A Division 1, while Hull-Daisetta’s Bobcats have been dropped from Division 1 to Division 2.
