Barbers Hill shuts out Dayton 8-0
MONT BELVIEU – London Schick and Josh Digulio combined for five hits and four RBIs at the plate, and the Barbers Hill Eagles opened the 2025 season at home on Monday afternoon with an 8-0 shutout of the Dayton Broncos.
Three Eagle pitchers combined on a one-hitter for the night. Bridger Thomas got the start on the mound for Barbers Hill and pitched three perfect innings for the win. Ayden Mooring and Jorge Garza each pitched two innings of relief.
The Eagles used an RBI single by Schick in the first inning, and then Roque Garcia tripled in a run in the second inning, and Barbers Hill led 2-0.
In the fourth inning, the Eagles added to their advantage with a two-run single by Digulio to lead 4-0.
Barbers Hill then put the game away with three more runs in the fifth inning. Cooper Lucas had an RBI groundout in the frame and then an RBI single by Digulio pushed the lead to 7-0.
Garza struck out the side in the seventh inning as the Eagles moved to 1-0 on the season.
Barbers Hill will play at the Galveston Ball Tournament this weekend.
