DAISETTA – Texas High School Women's Powerlifting Association held an event at Hull-Daisetta High School last week.
Anahuac High School was represented by ten of its strongest female lifters.
These events consist of three categories. They are squats, bench press and deadlift.
The total lifted in each event is tallied with the athlete's BWT or body weight using the Wilks Formula to determine a winner.
Placing first in their weight class, Paisley Wells' total for deadlift was a staggering 340 pounds, resulting in 820 pounds overall.
Kamarie Coates had 600, Jayla Kerl totaled a whopping 765 pounds and Rae Andrews had 600 pounds.
To put this in perspective, an average refrigerator weighs 300 pounds.
