Local candidate filing period open
Only months removed from the 2024 presidential election, politics is set to retake center stage as candidates file for a place on the ballot in local elections this coming May.
Today is the first-day local school and city election candidates can file paperwork declaring their candidacy on the May 3 ballot. The filing deadline is set for Friday, Feb. 14.
Candidates are sure to hit the stump as they share their vision for the future of the communities that comprise Chambers County, with a significant focus on Anahuac and Mont Belvieu, as several communities in the county host elections in the fall.
