Dayton FFA Livestock Show and Rodeo
DAYTON — The Dayton FFA Livestock Show and Rodeo kicks off this weekend. Many of the students will be involved in showing animals and projects.
Before the evening events, there will be weigh- ins and a showing of Market Swine, Market Broilers, Market Goats, Market Steer and Commercial Heifers.
Several years ago, the DHS FFA students implemented the Unified Show, which has grown in popularity and size.
Also, the Agriculture Mechanics Show will be held on Thursday, May 9, starting at 4 p. m. On the evening of May 10, there will be the Parade of Champions, Mutton Bustin’ and Rodeo performance.
On Saturday, May 11, at the Anson Rigby Arena, the delicious Bar- B- Que will start at 11 a. m., with the auction starting around 1 p. m.
There will be many fun family events. Dayton FFA would like to invite everyone to come out for some fun and to support the students.
Friday and Saturday’s schedule is below: Friday
9 a. m. Commercial Heifer Show followed immediately by Market Steer Show 7 p. m. Parade of Champions 8 p. m. Rodeo Performance Saturday
11 a. m. Young Farmers Bar- B- Que 1 p. m. Dayton FFA Market Livestock Auction 8 p. m. Rodeo Performance Come out and join in on the family fun, bar- b- que and Mutton Bustin’.
Each night, there will be Mutton Bustin’ from 7- 7: 30 p. m., ages 4- 6 (under 65lbs), nightly sign- ups and every rider wins a prize! There are 20 riders per night with a $ 30 entry fee.
Come out and support the youth and have some fun!
