TEXAS COMMUNITY FUTURES FORUM

Want to address the most critical issues in Liberty County? On Thursday, April 11, from 6:30 to 8 p.m. join the Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service at the Cleveland Civic Center for an educational program on identifying the issues on a county level. Topics include Agriculture and Natural Resources, Family & Community Health, 4-H Youth Development, and Community Development and Leadership. HEALING SERVICE

New Love Ministries will host a healing service on Sunday, April 14, at 4 p.m. at 1917 Jefferson, Liberty.

LMS & LHS BAND BOOSTERS FUNDRAISER

Liberty Middle and High School Band Boosters have a great new fundraiser. It’s another opportunity to donate to support the various events of these hard-working young musicians while buying something of great value that you already intend to buy. This time, it is mattresses; we all know someone who needs a mattress or two. All you need to do is show up at the Liberty High School Band Hall on Sunday, April 14, between 11 a.m. and 5 p.m. This is a one-day-only event, and mattresses range from $199 for a twin, $249 for a full, $299 for a queen, and $399 for a king! DTX COMMUNITY CLEAN-UP DAY

Please join the City of Daisetta, HD Neat, and HD Mayhaw Festival in our joint spring clean-up event. As a resident, you can utilize a free dumpster to remove clutter and debris from your home and yard. Prohibited items include fuel tanks, liquids, tires/rims and contractor/construction debris. This will take place on Saturday, April 20, from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the city pavilion, 410 Main St, Daisett a. HD Neat will also hold a BBQ sandwich fundraiser.

7-ELEVEN CAR SHOW

7-Eleven will have its first car show on Saturday, April 20, at 2130 Texas 146 Bypass, Liberty. Trophies will be given for classic, lifted, modified, lowered and antique categories. A DJ, prizes, pop-up vendors and more will be there for your entertainment.

AGGIE MUSTER

The Liberty County A&M Club will be holding their annual Aggie Muster on Sunday, April 21, at 6 p.m. located at the home of Jim ’71 and Sandra Sterling, 121 Feather Trace, Liberty. All Aggies and guests are invited, there will be a delicious meal prepared by Chef Dozier Partlow ’85. You must RSVP by high noon on Wednesday, April 17. TASTE OF CLEVELAND

Join the Greater Cleveland Chamber for Taste of Cleveland as they celebrate diners and drive-ins, while enjoying foods that bring back memories on Wednesday, April 24, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. The event will take place at the Cleveland Civic Center, 210 Peach Ave., Cleveland. This unique business expo welcomes businesses of all kinds (not just restaurants) to set up a booth and serve 200+ sample-size servings to attendees. Attendees will get a plate at the entrance then set out on an adventure around the ballroom to get a “taste” of each business. They will also receive a bingo card that will be filled by visiting the exclusive bingo booths. Once completed, they are entered to win a fantastic prize. Regular booths are $30 (limited to 40) and bingo booths are $85 (limited to 14) and are offered to past bingo booths first then a waiting list. Prepaid tickets will be $10, walkins will be $15. CANDLELIGHT VIGIL FOR CRIME VICTIMS

Join the Liberty County District Attorney’s Office’s Candlelight Vigil to commemorate National Crime Victims’ Rights Week and Child Abuse Prevention Month. The vigil will be held on Thursday, April 25, at 6 p.m. located at 1829 Sam Houston St., Liberty.

GIRLS JUST WANNA HAVE FUN

80’S LADIES NIGHT The Dayton Chamber of Commerce will host an 80’s themed ladies’ night on Friday, April 26, from 7 to 11 p.m. for a night full of fun to support women in business. This will take place at 801 S. Cleveland Street, Dayton. Individual tickets will be sold for $75, tables of 10 will be $700, and vendor booth space (limited to 25 vendors) will be $50. Sponsorship opportunities are available, contact the chamber for further information. There will be a dance party, food and drinks, door prizes, and so much more, you don’t want to miss it! A portion of the proceeds raised will be used to further encourage and help maintain a strong successful business climate for Women Owned Businesses and Women Entrepreneurs in Dayton and Liberty County. CLEAN UP CLEVELAND

Cleveland will host a Clean Up Cleveland Trash-Off Event on Saturday, April 27, from 9 a.m. to noon at Stancil Expo Center and Arena. Acceptable items will be anything from toys, bicycles, small lawn furniture, moving boxes, small appliances, and small furniture. Unacceptable items will be concrete, gasoline, batteries, tires, large metal, household trash, and large appliances. Register Your Team Today. Oh… And the team with the most present and active members will be recognized and awarded. FRIDAY NIGHT BITES

Dayton Enhancement Committee presents Friday Night Bites from May 3, from 6 until 9 p.m. This is a free-entry event. Entertainment, tequila tasting, food trucks, vendors, and more will be there. They will have a $20 minimum donation to DEC Projects as well. This will be located at 117 Cook St., Dayton. Entertainment will be DJ X and Ballet Folklorico.

HARDIN HELPING HANDS BBQ FUNDRAISER

Hardin Helping Hands will have a BBQ Fundraiser on Saturday, May 4. Doors will open at 5 p.m., from 5:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. The meal will be served at the Hardin High School Cafeteria, 501 FM 834, Hardin.

The door price is $16 per plate, and pre-orders will be $14 per plate (must be ordered before May 1; ages seven and under will have half off plates, a dessert is $2 extra. BBQ plates include brisket, sausage, beans, potato salad, onions, pickles, BBQ sauce, bread and a drink. Cash, check, Cash App, or PayPal will all be accepted.

MT. CALVARY CLOTHING DRIVE

Mt. Calvary Baptist Church is taking donations of student-size/style clothes for their annual back- to- school giveaway in July. They no longer give away adult clothes or household items but are returning to their program’s original intent. For more information, call 936-346-6244.

HARDIN ATHLETICS FUNDRAISER

The Hardin Athletic Booster Club is hosting a gun raffle with a winner every week for 52 weeks. Tickets are $50 each, and only 1000 tickets are sold. You must be 21 or over to enter. The Dayton Chamber of Commerce at 801 S. Cleveland St, Dayton, Texas, hosts a Popcorn Friday each week from 9 a.m. – 1 p.m. Stop by and meet your chamber staff while grabbing some free popcorn.

CONVERSATIONS & BREAKFAST

Pastor Ken Davis from Calvary Baptist Church in Dayton invites everyone to talk to him or pray with him on Friday mornings from 8:30 a.m. to 12 p.m. at McDonald’s. You bring the conversation, and he buys the breakfast. You are also more than welcome to send him a Facebook message to leave a prayer request for him.

SENIOR LUNCHEON

Every Tuesday-Friday at the Dayton Community Center, a free senior luncheon will be held from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m. All are sponsored by Grace Initiative, Dayton’s Meals On Wheels. Call 936-258-6630 to sign up for a meal.

YARN CLUB

Every Tuesday, 11:30 a.m. –1 p.m., the Yarn Club meets at the Dayton Community Center. There will be crocheting, quilting, knitting, cross stitch, embroidery, and almost anything you can think of with yarn! Call a Yarn Club member with questions at 281-385-5398.

INSIDE WALKING

SIT & BE FIT

SENIOR BRUNCH

Every Monday from 10 to 11 a.m. at 801 S. Cleveland St., Dayton, a light brunch will be served to all Seniors who attend. The type of food may vary depending on the volunteers and donations available. This will be at the Dayton Senior Center, 801 S. Cleveland St., Dayton. Be sure to sign up by noon the day before. FREE SENIOR BREAKFAST

On the Third Monday of each month at 10 a.m., there will be a free breakfast for Seniors. This event is hosted by South Liberty County, Meals on Wheels and Houston Food Bank. This will be held at 801 S. Cleveland St., Dayton.

SENIOR BINGO

DOMINOS

The City of Dayton will host Dominos 42 on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. at the Dayton Senior Center. If you are not into “42”, then bring some friends. There will be plenty of cards and dominos at the Senior Center. You can start a new group!

HARDIN SENIOR CITIZENS

The Hardin Senior Citizens meet at the Hardin Community Center each week, Tuesday- Friday. The center opens at 8:30 a.m. for anyone wanting a little breakfast at no charge or just to swing in to visit; for more information or to reserve your lunch, call 936-2983107. The Hardin Community Center is located at 414 CR 2010 in Hardin.

DAYTON OLD SCHOOL MUSEUM

The Dayton Old School Museum is open to the public from 10 a.m. – 2 p.m. on Saturdays. The museum is located at 111 W. Houston St. in Dayton.

CELEBRATE RECOVERY

The Family Church in Hardin hosts Celebrate Recovery, a weekly class every Friday at 7 p.m. If you know someone who needs this class, please share this information with them. This is a Bible-based recovery program for alcohol, drugs, codependency, anger management, etc. The Family Church is at 9456 HWY 146 N in Hardin, Texas.
