Tarkington uses big first in 16-1 win over Onalaska
TARKINGTON — The Tarkington Lady Horns needed only three innings to take care of Onalaska 16-1 on Friday evening at home.
Sheridan House had three hits and three RBIs, and teammate Oakley Blackburn collected two hits along with four RBIs.
The Lady Horns scored 11 runs in the first inning and would breeze from there.
Maddi Dominy struck out two in getting the win in the circle. She did not allow a hit.
In the first inning, Tarkington got an RBI triple from House and RBI singles from Shelbie Chamblee and Aniah Hyde to make it 4-1.
Abby Peachee then had an RBI double, and after walks to Kyra Massie and Aubrey McBee, it was Blackburn scoring two more with a single and the advantage was up to 8-1.
Savannah West followed with a sacrifice fly and then two more scored on a double by Dominy and a single by House, and it was 11-1 after an inning of play.
Tarkington would tack on four more runs in the second inning with a two-run triple by Blackburn that scored Kyra Massie and McBee and then Blackburn would score on the throw and the score was 14-1.
House then had an RBI double to plate another for a 15-1 lead.
The Longhorns ended the game in the bottom of the third inning as Hyde walked and then scored on a sacrifice fly by Addie Wood for the win.
Next up for Tarkington will be a home date with New Waverly on Friday at 6 p.m.
