View the Upcoming Solar Eclipse at Your Local Library
The Liberty Municipal Library is getting ready for the upcoming solar eclipse event on April 8.
The library applied to SEAL (Solar Eclipses Activities for Librarians) in October. 500 FREE solar glasses were awarded to the library.
The library will be hosting a solar viewing party from noon to 1p.m. on the day of the solar eclipse. Everyone is invited to view the event on the spacious back lawn of the Liberty Municipal Library.
Solar glasses will be provided at the event. Also, a limited number of solar glasses will be provided to the public on Saturday, April 6.
A little tidbit shared by the library is that eclipses can also be viewed underneath trees from the sun’s reflection through the leaves and projected upon the ground. White sheets will be set up underneath trees for those who wish to view the event without the strain of wearing glasses.
SEAL is funded by the Gordon and Betty Moore Foundation and operated by the Space Science Institute.
