“Bronco Blooms” Score High at the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo
The Dayton High School Floral Department, “Bronco Blooms,” was represented by six teams at the Houston Livestock Show & Rodeo Dining Duets Contest on Sunday, March 10.
Students were given flowers and materials to create a surprise arrangement and were only given one hour. The contest examines their creativity and all the skills learned in their Floral Design class.
This year’s surprise theme was Easter, with baskets serving as the vases for the flowers.
DISD is very proud to say that DHS had three of the top 10 teams out of 50.
Congratulations to Kinsie Johnson and Alyssa Mathews for becoming the Reserve Champions.
Other teams in the Top 10 were Kira Logan and Cheyenne Flowers, 6th, and Alezzandra Sandoval and Belinda Acuna placed 7th overall.
“We are so proud of these designers and the skills that they have obtained from school! We look forward to next year’s HLSR,” stated Ms. Hali Wagner.
