Foreman celebrates 90 years young

DAYTON — It was quite the celebration as Helen Foreman celebrated her 90th birthday with friends at a small gathering.

Helen met the love of her life, Charles, in Texarkana, Arkansas, on the first day of her new job with the phone company, and they spent 64 years together until his passing in 2016.

The couple eventually relocated to Port Arthur and ended up in Dayton, building one of the very first homes in their subdivision.

Friends gathered at Daphne Douglas's home to celebrate her birthday with cake and punch.

When Helen was asked about her secret, staying healthy and on the go, she said there wasn't much of a secret, but she did admit she only used olive oil and cooked healthily. She also said she took vitamins; of course, she pointed out they were Melaleuca products, which she sells on the side.
